Call for generosity of spirit

RED cross, a charity organisation renowned for its generous spirit, is calling for people to also dig deep.
Now is the time for the community to support Red Cross Calling, which runs from Monday, 13 February to Monday, 13 March.
Red Cross Calling is the organisation’s major appeal for funds to support its work in Australia.
Local volunteers were joined by Cardinia Shire mayor Bill Ronald this week to officially launch the fundraising effort.
Red Cross Calling is being held earlier than normal this year because of the Commonwealth Games.
Teams of volunteers will be doorknocking homes across Cardinia and Casey to raise muchneeded funds.
Meryl Waterhouse of Pakenham Red Cross said donations would help the organisation continue its vital work in assisting Australians in need.
Australian Red Cross Victoria executive director Andrew Hilton said at the recent bushfires thousands of volunteers served more than 30,000 meals across the state, helping revive the energy and spirits of firefighters battling to save lives and property.
