THIS cute kitten has used up at least one of its nine lives.
And it can thank staff at Pakenham’s YMCA for possibly saving the other eight.
The mewing moggie was one of a family of five kittens and their mum found sheltering under building materials at the site of extensions to the town’s indoor sports complex.
YMCA staff were able to rescue the cats, believed to have been dumped about a week ago.
Dale Taylor, who is the proud new owner of one of the kittens, said the furry little bundles were lured out from under a pile of concrete by the tantalising aroma of Whiskas.
“We put food out the front and managed to get them all out as they came out to eat,” he said.
Mr Taylor said the cats were friendly.
YMCA staff had heard their mews for a number of days and were happy to get them to safety.
The kittens and their mum were taken for vet checks and are now finding new homes.
