Christmas concert a hit

Haileybury students Jack Clemens, Jemma Turner, Lani Smith, Mackenzie Francke and Tyson Damjanovic read a Christmas story to their parents.Haileybury students Jack Clemens, Jemma Turner, Lani Smith, Mackenzie Francke and Tyson Damjanovic read a Christmas story to their parents.

CHILDREN who attend Haileybury’s Early Learning Centre in Berwick celebrated the end of the year with a concert for family and friends.
Preprep teacher Emily Baxter said this year the students were instrumental in creating their own Christmas book, titled The Night Before Christmas.
After acting out the story, they then sang Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and several Hi5 Christmas songs.
“It was wonderful to see such joy and happiness in the room as both parents and children shared this special experience,” said Ms Baxter.

WE wonder if some people are really in the know.
A press release came to the Gazette office last week with the following note: “Unfortunately we will not have the City of Casey mayor, chief executive or councillors present as they will be on a bus tour of the city.
“We will, however, have the Cardinia Shire mayor Bill Ronald and his family.”
Cr Ronald was not selected as mayor until two days ago – after the press release was sent out.
