BEACONHILLS College officially opened stage three of its Berwick campus on Tuesday 30 August.
Principal Tony Sheumak said development of the college had taken an enormous amount of effort by many people.
The new stage includes multimedia areas, a central meeting area, mini computer laboratories, two science laboratories, general learning areas and staff amenities.
La Trobe MP Jason Wood said the Federal Government had supported the school community by contributing $500,000 and the school raised $1,624,182 toward the total cost of $2,124,182.
Mr Wood said Beaconhills provided quality education for more than 2000 students ranging from prep to year 12 across two sites, the Valley campus at Pakenham and the Village campus at Kangan Drive, Berwick.
“This indicates significant growth of this community from its humble beginning at Pakenham with 34 students in 1982,” he said.
“The Village campus has 807 students and will expand to 2008 to be a full year 12 college.
“The school focuses on building creativity, spirituality and academic excellence as educational priorities.”
