A DANIEL Savage wicket attack helped Officer’s A-grade team keep Catani to a reachable 242 runs on Saturday.
At tea Catani was well placed being 0/111.
Savage then got the first wicket and Officer then took 6/17 to have Catani 6/150.
Savage was again superb with the ball to take the sensational figures of 6/45 from 22 overs with eight maidens.
Clint Williams was also good with his off-spin to take 2/94 from 19 overs. Brett Reid was accurate with 2/23 from 11.5 overs.
James Quinn bowled tightly with 0/30 off 12 overs.
Captain Ben Tivendale had 0/13, but was restricted to only four overs due to an injury.
On a fast ground Officer will be aiming to bat all day next Saturday.

C GRADE

Officer tackled the unbeaten Lang Lang and again showed improvement with the bat to make 9/214 from its 70 overs.
Peter Quinn was unlucky not to reach his second century being out for a brilliant 92.
Peter hit six boundaries in his innings on a well-grassed Officer oval.
Tony Smith also showed good form with a quick 57, doing well after a couple of let-offs.
Brent Pullen was solid in the opening position making 14 and adding 54 with Peter Quinn for the third wicket.
Jason Hester made 15 until being run out in the sixth over.

E GRADE

Officer struggled against a good Merinda Park attack.
Batting first after being sent in, Officer was bundled out for just 46 in 18 overs.
Only Michael Adams made double figures with 18.
Adam Reid made 6, Chris Dorman 5, Michael Haughton four and Ben Adams 3.
With the ball Chris Dorman led the way with a good spell to take 3/21.
Adam Reid was quick in his spell of 14 overs to take 1/47, Richard Adams took 1/17 off six overs and Ben Adams 1/17 off eight overs.
Tom Bulenok bowled accurately to have 0/15 off 10 overs.
Merinda Park was 6/156 off 49 overs when stumps were down.

F GRADE

Also playing Merinda Park, Officer had a good win by 34 runs.
Merinda Park was all out for 178.
For Officer, Scott Nicholson was the dominant bowler to take 3/21 off six overs, David Colderbella took 2/27 from five overs, Paul Dorey had 1/26 and Jason Nicholson 1/8 from three overs.
Officer got off to a 43-run start in the partnership between David Colderbella 42 and Andrew Stevenson 14.
Tim Anderson made a quick 30 and Nigel Gibbons was 40 not out with six fours and a six.
Jason Nicholson completed a good game to finish 45 not out.
Officer’s middle order added 103 for the fifth wicket without loss to win in the 31st over.

UNDER 16

Officer tackled Emerald and was defeated by 66 runs.
Officer was all out for 87 chasing 153 with Matt Cooper top scoring with 27.
Mitch Wilson lent good support with 22 and Luke Beaumont with eight was again consistent.
Aaron Green was four not out and Herrod Bowman also made four.
Officer then bowled again and Emerald were 1/54 off 11 overs.
Mitch Wilson took 1/9 with a good caught and bowled.

UNDER 14

Officer was at home to Beaconsfield that made 3/91.
Lucas Hunter bowled superbly to take 3/5 off two overs.
Tom Marsh took 1/12 in two overs, Jarryd Barnes had 0/11 in four overs and then made nine not out with two fours as Officer were 6/17 at the end of the match.
Tom Larsen made two and Xavier Quigley one. Larsen and Jarryd Barnes each took catches.
