TOORADIN senior sides failed in round four, losing narrowly in A grade and collapsing badly in B grade.

A GRADE

Tooradin was defeated by Devon Meadows by 32 runs on the first innings.
Chasing Tooradin’s 197, Devon Meadows reached the target with eight wickets down.
A couple of solid partnerships helped the visiting team to victory.
Meadows resumed 1/0 and, after Aaron Avery took three wickets, the opposition was 4/67 from 32 overs.
A partnership of 76 was broken by Rory Alder and Devon Meadows was 5/143.
Alder took two more wickets and then Avery another to have the Panthers 8/173 but, in a tight finish, Devon Meadows got home.
Avery took 5/53 from 22 overs and Alder 3/40 from 19 overs of well controlled spin.

B GRADE

Chasing Beaconsfield’s total of 244, Tooradin failed badly, reaching 87 all out.
The only highlight of the batting was a 54-run partnership between Andy Gray (47) and Tony Floro.
Beaconsfield decided to bat a second time and Tooradin did well, having the hosts 9/44 off 29 overs.
Man of the match was Dale Bethune for his 7/60 and 4/14.

UNDER 16

Tooradin scored 5/145 from 40 overs against Cardinia.
After winning the toss and batting, Tooradin lost an early wicket, however new opener Matt Burridge (12) and Sean Baker took the score to 2/28 before Burridge was dismissed.
Sean Wilson then joined Baker and with sensible batting took the score to 128 before Wilson retired with 50. Baker continued his good form with 39.
Good bowling and fielding won the game for the Seagulls.
