DURING the Christmas holidays, Pakenham SES will be serving free tea and coffee in Officer on 23 December from 6pm to midnight, and also on 2 January from noon to midnight, encouraging drivers to take a rest, revive and survive.
The SES and Pakenham Road Rescue Unit (which includes Nar Nar Goon CFA) would also like to thank local businesses for their support by allowing volunteers to turn out while they are at work.

FESTIVE spirit will reign at Lang Lang’s Christmas carols on Monday.
The Rotary Club of Lang Lang/Kooweerup will present the annual event at 7.30pm at the Lang Lang Memorial Hall.
Starring the Cardinia Civic Concert Band, Lang Lang Community Singers and Lang Lang Primary School, the carols will feature a special appearance by Santa.
Entry is a gold coin donation, and popular local entertainer Allan Cherry will serve as the master of ceremonies.

GEMBROOK will really be celebrating Christmas at the town’s twilight market this Saturday.
In addition to being a great place to pick up last-minute gifts, the market will be a real community affair.
Students from Gembrook Primary School will be displaying their own Human Powered Vehicle, which took part in the recent RACV Human Powered Vehicle races at Maryborough.
The Friends of the Bunyip State Forest and Friends of Kurth Kiln will also be holding displays, and a local circus troupe will be performing.
Main Street traders will be operating late to accommodate the twilight market, Carols in the Park will be held from 7pm.
The carols will include lots of musical entertainment for young and old, and a special appearance by Father Christmas.
Gembrook was among several local schools competing at Maryborough.
The Gembrook teams Dynamite and Cruising Devils did a great job with some grade six children even offering to repeat the year just so they could have another go!
