A GRAFFITI attack on a Pakenham estate has outraged residents and developers who say the damage will cost thousands of dollars to repair.
The graffiti covered signs, poles, walkways and power boxes around Pakenham’s Heritage Springs.
Heritage Springs developer Andrew Facey said the vandalism around the estate was ‘absolutely disgraceful’ and he would be pushing for charges of wilful damage.
“You take such pride in a place like this,” Mr Facey said.
“It’s disgusting. I will prosecute as hard as I can for this offence and any others.”
The vandalism occurred some time on Friday night or early Saturday morning.
Heritage Springs marketing manager Don Fraser said the offender had caused thousands of dollars of damage.
“We haven’t had much drama in the past,” Mr Fraser said.
“We have never had graffiti problems in this area.”
Mr Fraser said the offender had left a ‘tag’ on all of the areas of the graffiti that identified the culprit.
Estate sales manager Karen Morgan estimated the damage would cost about $12,000 to repair.

*Pakenham police apprehended a 17yearold Pakenham man at the corner of Heritage Boulevard and McGregor Road just after midnight on Saturday morning.
Police say they saw a man walking away from a Heritage Springs sign and throwing a spray can into a bush.
He was charged with criminal damage and will go before court at a later date.
