A FAMILY day at Beaconhills Country Golf Course on Saturday saw a father and son win their respective grades.
The event was Par and played on the Old course with Chris Webb winning Cgrade with +5 and Toby Webb Bgrade with the same score.
Ron Cook was the Agrade winner on a countback with +4.
Lauren Hudswell won the junior competition with 31 nett.

Tony Fry with 44 Stableford points was the winner and Tony McNamee the runner up on a countback with 39 points.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:MIXED FOURSOMES OF FUN
On Sunday afternoon the front nine of the Old course was filled as the ‘He Hits It, She Hits It’ crowd headed out to their tees for a shotgun start.
Played in a mixedfoursomes format, the game teams a golfer with an official handicap with a nonhandicapped player of the opposite sex.
Eight players per group provided plenty of laughter and sledging echoed around the course.
David Coates and daughter posted the winning score of 28 nett.
David remarked in his victory speech that this was the first time he had teamed with his daughter, after competing in the event for many years with his wife. He diplomatically thanked them both.
Simon and Dianne Conn were the runnersup with 29 nett, while Chelsea Conn and Woody won the NAGA.
Rob and Karen Bishop won the putting with 13.
Sean Brasher, Brad Crowley, Laura Griffin and Karen Bishop won longest drives.
Nearest the pins were won by Denis Hooper and Sean Brasher on the second and Laura Griffin and Caroline Murphy on the sixth.

Ross O’Garey scored his second consecutive Tuesday competition win.
His 41 points won him the competition on a countback from runnerup John Watson.
Neil Currie had a hole in one on the 15th of the Old course.
Other nearestthepin winners were – second: Sven Riisik, sixth: John Watson, 11th: Les Ankers and 13th: Jack Weir.

There were two grade winners Martin Balsarini, Bgrade on a countback with 41 points, while David Moloney’s 46 points to take out Agrade was the best scoring of the week. Nearest the pins were won by David Crowe (second and 11th), David Moloney (sixth), Phil Belsham (13th) and Stuart Allen (15th).

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:LADIES CHARITY DAY
Described as a great success, this was held on Wednesday, 21 March in aid of the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute and hosted by lady president Marg Rice and her committee.
After the fourballbestball round, the 46 pairs in the field 14 pairs of men and 32 pairs of women enjoyed lunch and an informative presentation, given by Dr Erinna Lee from the Institute.
Since 1976 Beaconhills has donated $54,696 to its nominated charity.
Last year and once again this year, donations have risen toward the $3000 mark, with the help of Berwick Health Services that covered the cost of trophies.
Lady captain Libby Michell announced the ladies’ winners on the day as Mary Padman and Judy Butler with an excellent 50 Stableford points.
Runnersup were Liz Kendall and Jenny Mitchell with 48 points.
Colin Dell and John Wheatley amassed 52 points to blitz the men’s field. John Madigan and Franz Eckhardt, Ashleigh Graham and Andrew Toon, each pair with 47 points, were their nearest rivals.
John and Franz were declared runnersup on a countback. Ashley and Andrew were winners of the ‘best nine out’ with 27 points, while Norris Burch and Wayne Boyle won the ‘best nine in’ with 25 points on a countback from Richard Harding and Roger Pickford.
Andrew Toon and Franz Eckhardt won nearest the pins on the second and 11th respectively.
Les Richards and Eric Moore both won longest drives.
In the ladies’ field, Sally Kunz and Alison Collins won the ‘best nine out’ with 23 points on a countback from Gillian Lewis and Bev Marshall.
The ‘best nine in’ was won by Paula Rae and Annette Kirby, whose 28 points had been given a boost along by Annette’s fivepoint birdie.
Sally Kunz on the sixth and Carol Westrip on the 11th both achieved nearest the pins, while Marilyn Ford and Deb Holland were the longest drives.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:TOPS AT TWILIGHT
The final twilight for the year was held on Wednesday, 21 March and a large group stayed for tea and to see the presentation of the overall trophy for the season by club captain Peter Lockman and match committeeman James Coughlin.
The winner was Wayne Johnson and runnerup was Billy Sheehan.
Nick Jones won the gross prize and Robert Darlison was the most efficient putter over the period.
Peter Lockman also thanked Peter Johnston for his administration of Twilight and thanked James and Jenny Coughlin for their work in tallying the final results.
