Fire in the heart

TWO Berwick Fire Brigade members, Tom Scanlan and Alan Poulton, have 99 years’ Country Fire Authority service between them.
Tom has been a member for 54 years and Alan for 45.
Things have changed a lot since they were young firefighters, but the men have moved with the times and still provide a service to the brigade and community.
The Gazette this week features the volunteer brigade now moving toward its 80th birthday on Saturday 1 July.
