YOUNG athletes went for gold at Lang Lang Primary School’s Commonwealth Games day.
Assistant principal Michael Smythe said the event was a great success. Children dressed in the national colours of several different countries and paraded around under some very detailed and elaborate country banners made during art classes.
“The grade six students acted as master of ceremonies and announced the Athletes Oath and details of the various countries that the children represented, while different national anthems were played,” he said.
Children also participated in various games before enjoying a barbecue and the presentation of medals.
