Sixteen junior members invited friends to come and try golf for the afternoon.
The day, described as a huge success, saw juniors and their friends form a team through face painting and there were some golf and nongolfrelated games.
The pairs then headed out on the course for nine holes of Canadian foursomes and the afternoon ended with snacks and presentations.
The juniors and their friends will now be invited to take part in clinics in future weeks, aimed to get them motivated to play more golf over the coming summer school holidays.
The club thanked the VGF for the grant, junior coordinator Sharon Taylor and club professional Mark Griffin for organising and implementing the day.
It was announced at the presentations that Noah Kolmus was drawn to fly to Queensland to play in a junior week of golf on the Sunshine Coast that coincides with the Cadbury Schweppes PGA Championships.
Noah, a member of the Cadbury Schweppes junior program at Beaconhills, will meet top tour professionals like Craig Parry, play golf, attend coaching clinics and be a special guest at the PGA championships at Coolum.
He is one of more than 50 who were drawn to attend the championships from clubs throughout Australia that adopted the junior program, aimed to encourage and promote junior golf.
