THICK fog didn’t faze Gary Westwick, who ‘hit the ball out of sight’, shooting an excellent 39 points to win Pakenham Golf Club’s Stableford event on Saturday.
Bgrade winner was Bob Edwards with 38 and C grade went to Stewie Scott with 39.

McQUALTER
KNOCKOUT

The McQualter matchplay knockout was also played on Saturday.
Brett Mottram defeated Shane Bloomfield 5/3. Mark Klaver defeated Dean Jones 3/2. Shane Wilkinson defeated Scott Milnes 4/3 and Cliff Pain defeated Don Towan 3/2.
The next round will see Brett Mottram play Mark Klaver and Shane Wilkinson play Cliff Pain.

SATURDAY LADIES

The Saturday event was won by Bianca Walker with 36 points and she also won the nearest the pin.
Down the lines: Laurite Stewart and Maria Warburton both with 33 points.

MONDAY RESULTS

This attracted 36 players to the Stableford competition with Angie Peluso coming in with 37 points to win from Ross Stewart with 35.
Down the lines went to David Hoare 35, Chris Peeters 35, Eric Butcher 34, Cliff Pain 34, Ray Wilson 34 and Anthony Wynen 34.
Nearest the pin on the second went to Ross Stewart and the eighth to Angie Peluso. Bob Morrison took out the 14th hole.

WEDNESDAY RESULTS

Sixty players took part in the morning competition.
Colin Crowle was the winner with 39 points on a countback from John Roberts also with 39.
Down the lines went to David Horne 38, Rory Sutton 36, Bob Morrison 36, Ian Shennan 36, Stokjo Kresojevic 35, Stan Gilbert 35, Matt Yusoff 35, Al Campbell 35 and Owen Bumpstead 34.
Nearest the pin on the second went to David Hoare and the eighth to John Kingman. The 14th went to Matt Yusoff.

LADIES

On 5 June, Pakenham ladies held an enjoyable pennant luncheon.
After an excellent twocourse lunch, entertainment included a ‘golfers parade’ by division two and ‘dancing with the stars’ presented by division four.

TEE UP FOR DISTRICT FINAL

Thursday, 8 June the ladies played fourballbestball Stableford for the Women’s Golf Victoria Centenary Event.
The district final will be held at Lang Lang on 14 August and the final at Royal Melbourne on 17 November.
Winners were Shirley Roberts and Jean Hoare with 46 points from Maria Warburton and Libby De Hey with 45 points.
Nearest the pin on the second went to Marjorie Dean, the eighth to Marg Blake and the 14th to Marg Andrews.
Downtheline balls went to Ros King/Marg Andrews 44, Jenny Bayard/Dawn Van Roy 43, Norma Robertson/Joan Young 40, Marg Blake/Liz Garvey 40 and Judy Horne/Bev Morgan 38 on a countback.
Unfortunately Shirley and Jean are unable to represent Pakenham on the 14 August at Lang Lang, but Libby and Maria are happy to do so.
This Thursday is 27 hole foursomes starting at 8am.
Next Saturday four players will compete in the morning for the McQualter Knockout finals with the two winners playing in the afternoon to determine the winner. The overflow event is Par.
