NAR Nar Goon Kindergarten’s longestserving teacher has been farewelled by the local community.
Debra Sillcock started at the kindergarten in 1985 as a parent and quickly became involved in the committee as enrolment secretary.
In 1988 she became the threeyearold teacher and was appointed to the fouryearold teacher in 2000.
Nar Nar Goon Kindergarten committee vicepresident Sarah Gunton said Ms Sillcock would be sorely missed.
“Debra has been part of the Nar Nar Goon community for nearly 17 years,” she said.
“In that time, many children have been taught by her and would undoubtedly have many fond memories of their early learning days at the kinder.
“She has spent countless hours preparing for classes and has been tireless in her endeavours to give the children the best and enjoyable start to early education.”
Ms Gunton said past and present staff, children, parents and the Nar Nar Goon community wished Ms Sillcock every success in the future and wanted to thank her for everything she had done in the community over the years.
“Her honesty, warmth and integrity is second to none,” Ms Gunton said.
Also leaving was kindergarten assistant Sharon Sparks, who had been connected with the kinder for several years.
