AUSTRALIAN Hearing Pakenham hosted a morning tea last week for its veteran clients as part of recent Remembrance Day activities.
Michelle Esparon, district manager at the local branch, said veterans were an important part of Australian Hearing’s history.
The agency was initially set up by the Federal Government in 1947 to help veterans with noiserelated ear damage.
Latrobe MP Jason Wood joined war veterans, including Pakenham RSL president Norman Joseph and Nar Nar Goon RSL president Max Murray, at the morning tea.
“We are encouraging veterans to get their hearing checked and find out what free and subsidised services they can access,” Ms Esparon said.
