THE Cardinia LiFE Aquatic and Recreation Centre has started a membership drive to promote the much anticipated opening of the $10 million complex in mid June.
A promotion stall is set up outside the Coles Supermarket in the Pakenham Place Shopping Centre to give residents an idea of the range of activities and services that will be on offer.
Interested residents can become “foundation members” of the centre and will have the opportunity to be among the first to use the stateoftheart complex.
A range of memberships will be available for families, singles and concession holders, as well as a price guide for casual visitors.
Complex manager Michelle Young said the membership drive was launched to let the people of Pakenham know the centre is opening soon and what it will offer.
“We will have our qualified consultants there to advise which membership will benefit each person most,” said Ms Young.
The centre will also run a community information night at the Cardinia Cultural Centre on 15 May to inform locals of the employment opportunities that the centre will bring to the region.
More than 80 jobs will be announced across a range of areas.
All the jobs will be initially advertised locally in the hope that many of the full time, part time and casual vacancies will be filled by local residents.
