PLAYING the form side Hampton Park at the web, the Lions proved they not only play well in the dry but had a wetweather game.
Pakenham got the jump on the opposition in the first quarter, kicking four goals to one, and from there never let Hampton Park into the game.
The Lions ran out victors by five goals.
Michael Holland and Lincoln Withers again combined to dominate the game in the middle and was well supported by Justin Sutherland in the ruck.
Troy Willis played his best game for the year. Both Chad Shooter and Beau Wheeler played creditable games. The club wished Cory Lenders a speedy recovery from a broken hand.
Scores: Pakenham 8.8.56 d Hampton Park 4.2.26.

Undermanned and playing top side Hampton Park, Pakenham played an admirable team game but went down by two points. The Lions came out in the first quarter and kicked five goals to three but, after an indiscretion halfway through the first quarter, Ben Kitchin had to leave the field, forcing his teammates to play one short for the rest of the game.
But Pakenham took the game right up to the opposition only to fall over in the last minutes.
Scores: Hampton Park 6.12.48 d Pakenham 7.4.46.

The Lions were right in the game halfway through the second quarter, when their opponents showed their strength to run out comfortable victors in the end by a comfortable margin of 63 points.
James Daly showed his like for the mud and was adjudged best afield. Jason Aldis played arguably his best game for the year.
Nat Stewart proved he is going to be an exciting prospect for the Lions in years to come.
Chris McKinlay and Clint Thomas both played respectable games and John Higgins continued his recent form. Barry Donaldson and Chris Higgins kicked three goals each up forward.
Scores: Hampton Park 17.19.121 d Pakenham 9.4.58.
