Peter Boekel, Marion Boschma and Tom Flynn each live at the Killara Hostel where trainee carers have spent several months compiling a This is Your Life-style scrapbook of their stories, memories and experiences. Hayley Joyner, Kate Sillcock and Kerrie Glynn began their traineeships in January and have worked with residents to produce a permanent record of their personal history.
The trainees said it was a wonderful way of truly getting to know the residents of the hostel. The life history books were compiled with the elderly trio’s permission.
The books were presented at a special afternoon tea on 6 December.
Families of those involved in the project joined in the celebrations.
