Making the most of dolls

DOLL maker and enthusiast Linda Kellet of Cranbourne was guest speaker at a Cancer Foundation fundraiser held in the Edrington Village Berwick community centre on Tuesday, 20 September.
Keen interest was shown in the hobby.
Ms Kellet explained to residents how the porcelain dolls were made and dressed.

FORMER AFL footballer Paul Hudson, fresh from coaching Gippsland Power to the TAC Cup premiership on Saturday, will be a guest speaker at a Bounce Back for Life session at Kooweerup on Wednesday, 12 October.
Hudson will talk about resilience through sport at the event, which is a feature of local Mental Health Week activities.
Dr Paul Lee, a psychiatrist best known for his work with children and adolescents, will talk about resilience and relationships.
Resilience is a key theme of the event, which will be held at Kooweerup Secondary College’s library complex in Rossiter Road.
The free session begins at 7pm and there will be showbags, supper, martial arts demonstrations, massages and music.
The Community Peer Support Program and Kooweerup Secondary College Parents and Friends Association have sponsored the event.

A TRAINING session for people keen to do more to protect waterways will be held at Peppermint Ridge Farm in Tynong North.
The session will be held from 7.30am next Monday, 3 October.
Organiser Jane Foster said volunteers would be trained in macroinvertebrate identification and testing for water pollution.
