UPPER Beaconsfield’s B-grade team had a good day against Emerald on Saturday, bowling out the home side for 82 and then making 1/109 at stumps.
Scott Pitcher took 5/22, James Haupt 2/13 and Chris Smith 2/24.
With the bat Dave Taylor was lbw for 56 just before stumps and Daniel Williams was 40 not out.

C GRADE

The Maroons bowled well, dismissing Catani for 93, Marty Oke taking 3/15.
However disaster struck when Upper Beaconsfield batted and at stumps the Maroons were 9/53 with only Chris Reid (12) reaching double figures. Tim Eklund and Josh Kemp were at the crease.

UNDER 14

Upper Beaconsfield played a one-day game against Emerald, making 145 and then bowling the opposition out for 75 to record its second win.
Tom Jennings was the star of the day, retiring on 28 and taking 5/6 in a fine all-round double.
Jayden Joyce made 17, Ash Hughes 10 and James Andrewartha nine not out. Sam Hall took 3/2 and Troy Marsh 1/17.

UNDER 12 RED

Chasing Emerald’s 7/66, Upper Beaconsfield made 6/72 for victory.
There was some loose bowling early, but some very good close-in fielding that made up for it.
Eddie Cairncross took three brilliant catches and Jayden Joyce threw himself around stopping many runs and also taking a good catch.
Brad Abella took his first wicket.
When Upper Beaconsfield batted, it slumped to 5/12, but a quick-fire 15 from Jack Sheppard with three boundaries and 14 from Jayden Joyce with a huge six right out of the park turned the innings around.
Eddie Cairncross and Sam Alger finished the innings off well when Sam hit a lovely pull shot for four.
This was a great win against the undefeated Emerald side

UNDER 12 WHITE

The Whites won well, completing a great weekend for the juniors.
