MARTIN Spurway shot an excellent 44 Stableford points to win the men’s competition at Pakenham Golf Club on Saturday.
The A-grade winner was Nik Hock with 38 and C grade went to Maurice Rossetti with 41 points.
Down the lines saw Peter Blackwell 42, Steve Chapman 41, Grant Emmott 41, Rex Jobling 40, Frank Morris 39, Cliff Pain 39, Rob Wedlock 39, Noel Bonne 39, Martin O’Hare 39, Shane McKiernan 39, Cameron McGregor 38, Michael Davey 38, Scott Phillips 38, Bob Muddyman 38, Bruce Lott, Gary Brand, Col MacLean, Ray Allen, Patrick Duane, Glen Easto, Bob Morrison, Trevor Chivers, and John Hutcheon all 37 the winners.
Dean Jones and Shane McKiernan both had birdies on the fifth hole to win a ball and Scott Milnes won the Spalding’s Eagles Nest of four balls on the 18th.
Nearest the pins saw John Goodchild the winner on the golf shop second hole and Shane McKiernan took out the Pakenham Subway fifth hole.
Dean Jones won the Hungry Jack’s 14th hole and Rob Wedlock the Pakenham Pizza 16th.
Fergus O’Gallagher was the winner for the second shot on the B.M.R. Autos sixth.
The B.M.R. Autos A-grade longest drive was won by Travis Wheeler with John Oswald taking out B grade.
The McIntyre Painting C-grade longest drive went to Mick Conroy.
Raffle winners were Rob Sandiford and Rod Park.

This was a Par event with Ian Shennan the winner with +4 from Malcolm Clay +3 and Angie Peluso +2.
Down the lines went to Bob Morrison +2, Tony Wynen +1, Vilie Koroknai +1, followed by Peter Lawlor, Al Campbell, Brian Doherty, Ray Wilson, Heath Barclay, David McArthur, Scott Hooper and Stuart Hare all on square.
Werner Kerber was the winner of the nearest the pin on the eighth hole.
WEDNESDAY RESULTS
A morning field of 70 competed in a Stableford event.
Andrew Wraight was the winner with 43 points from Dennis Stilborn 41 and Tony Vallance 40.
Down-the-line winners were Al Campbell 39, David Horne 39, Brian Doherty 38, Robert Yates 38 and John Oswald 37.
Nearest the pin on the second hole went to Bob Laidlaw and Andrew Wraight won the 14th.
TWILIGHT COMPETITION
More than 100 played in the Wednesday twilight nine-hole competition, with the winner being Dean Jones with 23 points.
Don Moloney was the winner of the meal voucher from Sue and Bill Livesay, coming in with 22 points.
Down-the-line winners were Scott Phillips 22, Brian Bateup 22, Travis Jack 21, Denis Stilborn 21, Robert Morley 21, Bob Yates 20, Bernie Gramc 20, Andrew Wraight 20, Ken McIntyre 20, Bob Collins 19, Ray Barnes 19, Mick Boyd 19 and Stuart Scott 19.
Nearest the pin (second shot) on the seventh went to Steve Cardwell and Dieter Ruprecht was the winner of the eighth hole.

SUNDAY COMPETITION
Nineteen players took part in the ball competition.
The winner was Neil Mani with 44 Stableford points from Bob Kumar with 43.
LADIES
Forty-six ladies enjoyed a good fun day playing Multiplier Stableford on Thursday, 17 November.
The winners were Lorraine Molnar and Norma Gasgard with 72 points with Judy Horne and Marg Turner coming in with 65 points to be runners-up.
Nearest the pin on the second hole went to Maria Warburton and the Joyce Garton was the winner on the eighth.
Down the Lines went to Libby De Hey/Wendy Wightman 62, Val Carroll/Jenny Bayard 52, Ann Bell/Adele Mahony 51, Marg Blake/Lyn Murray 50 and Pat Salau/Dawn Van Ray 50.
WORKSHOP-CLINIC
The workshop/clinic with Rod Akan will be held on Monday, 28 November from 10.30am to noon. $10 per head. Tea and cakes.
BEGINNERS’ DAY
Next week is beginners’ day, which is a nine-hole Canadian foursomes event.
Any new players are welcome, do not have to have a handicap and can be a raw beginner – it does not matter.
It’s a chance to give the game a try. Those interested can phone the golf shop on 5941 4083.
ANNUAL PICNIC DAY
The following week the ladies will go to Trafalgar for the annual picnic day and to vie for the Brett Ogle Trophy.
The bus will leave the Pakenham Golf Club at 7.30am.
COMING EVENTS
The 2005 ladies event calendar is nearly completed with only a four-ball-best-ball Par event on Thursday, 8 December and presentation day on 15 December,
There will be a ball competition on a Thursday morning during January.
Hit-off will be from 8am to 8.30am. All players must report to the golf shop by 8.15 am.
