BULN BULN ruckman Matt Gray is the 2005 Alf Walton Medal winner for the best and fairest player in the Ellinbank and District Football League.
It was a welldeserved win for Gray, one of the players considered among the most honest in the league and runnerup in the 2004 count.
He polled 27 votes to win by two from Longwarry rover Matt Campbell on 25, with Bunyip’s Daniel Hagen and Cora Lynn’s Chad Ingram a further two votes away on 23.
Gray polled votes in 11 games including six bestonground efforts.
The reserves award was won by Lang Lang’s Mark Hunter with 24 votes from Justin Herbert (Cora Lynn) on 22 and Leigh Noonan (Nar Nar Goon) 21.
Winner of the thirds was Longwarry’s Brodie Rundell, who won with 25 votes from Nar Nar Goon’s Phil Hicks on 18 and Lang Lang’s Daniel Barwick on 16.
In the fourths the winner was Lang Lang’s Sam Cole with 23.25 votes from Nar Nar Goon’s Brent Hughes on 22, while in the fifths count Catani’s Luke Failla won with an incredible 41 votes.
