CASEY mayor Neil Lucas commended members of the Narre Warren Red Cross Unit for the work Red Cross does at all levels at the unit’s recent 66th birthday celebration.
Cr Lucas told the gathering Red Cross had a special place in his heart.
“My fatherinlaw, who was a prisoner of war, said he would not have returned home except for support given by Red Cross,” he said.
“When you join all the little things together that Red Cross does, then you have a heck of a lot of community service.
“It is the collective efforts of people here that makes such a difference.
“Red Cross is a wonderful organisation.”
