CROWDS flocked to Pakenham on the weekend to admire hundreds of the best machines on four wheels.
The Rod and Kustom Picnic at the racecourse again attracted enormous interest with show visitors enjoying an eyepopping display of the coolest cars around.
Presented by Kustoms of Australia, the 13th annual event has been described as the most exciting hot rod and custom car show staged in Australia.
It was a car lover’s paradise and fine weather meant the meanest and most magnificent machines were agleam as they went on parade.
The picnic each year attracts people from around Australia and even overseas.
Patrons were treated to displays, trade stalls, merchandise and, of course, the coolest custom cars in the business.
Live bands kept the crowds entertained while car enthusiasts enjoyed the chance to catch up with friends at the familyfocused event.
Organisers have described the Pakenham picnic as a mecca for hot rod and custom car enthusiasts and the 2005 version helped add to the legend.
On the Saturday, hundreds of cool cars congregated at Noble Park and then cruised along the Princes Highway to Pakenham.
A rock and roll dance at 8 pm gave patrons the chance to dust off their blue suede shoes while Sunday was the main day of the picnic.
