CFA brigades at Gembrook and Toomuc will receive funding for new fire trucks.
Emerald SES has also won a funding boost under the latest round of emergency support grants announced last week by the State Government.
Gembrook MP Tammy Lobato said she was thrilled that the Gembrook CFA brigade will receive $45,333 which, along with a contribution of $28,667 from the local brigade, and $72,000 from the CFA, will mean a new $146,000 tanker for the local community.
The Toomuc CFA will receive $42,833, while Emerald SES will receive $33,563.
Ms Lobato welcomed the funding announcements, made during a visit to Launching Place by Minister for Emergency Services Tim Holding.
Ms Lobato also congratulated the volunteers who not only spent time fighting fires, but had also raised so much money towards fundraising for the tanker purchase.
“Members and their families make so many sacrifices for the benefit of the wider community,” she said.
“I commend their dedication to what is often a difficult task, and I am delighted that the minister could be here today to announce this grant.”
Ms Lobato spoke in State Parliament last week about the sacrifices made by emergency service volunteers and their families, who make an enormous contribution to community safety.
“I take this opportunity to pay my respects to the families who lost loved ones in the recent fires and congratulate each and every CFA volunteer from around the state who assisted,” she said.
Under the program, the State Government provides funding on a twoforone basis for local emergency service groups for projects up to $40,000 and dollarfordollar grants for projects above $40,000.
The maximum grant available is $70,000.
