AFTER 27 sellout performances at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Akmal returns by popular demand to the suburbs of Melbourne.
A seasoned comic with an evergrowing profile, Akmal has toured nationally with the cream of international comedians appearing in Australia.
Being of Arab heritage, his comedy touches on the issues such as Jesus, September 11 and hysterical looks at modernday life in Australia.
He has the uncanny gift to walk on stage and instantly have the audience eating out the palm of his hand.
In 1992 Akmal wrote and starred in ‘All Aussies are Boofta’ a comedy show that enjoyed successful runs and rave reviews.
Akmal’s show ‘Hoot’ enjoyed a successful run at the 1996 Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne Comedy Festivals and he was subsequently invited to appear at the Gided Balloon in the 1996 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
His new show ‘Gullible’ premiered at the 2004 Melbourne International Comedy Festival where it sold out every performance.
Akmal has written and performed sketches for SBS (‘Insight’) which culminated in his own television series ‘The 50 Foot Show’, which aired on the comedy channel in Australia and New Zealand and is sought after in the radio industry.
AList Entertainment presents Akmal on Thursday, 29 June at 8pm at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, Lakeside Boulevard, Pakenham.
Tickets for the show are, adults $29.90 and concession $26.90 (including GST).
