NYORA’S Bgrade team failed to overhaul KilcundaBass and went down by 101 runs in the grand final on Saturday.
Due to the wet conditions, play started 25 minutes late and KilcundaBass won the toss and elected to bat.
Nick Fairbank took the first wicket, aided by a catch to Adam Tagliaferro in the ninth over, with the score on 17.
Andrew Collis took the next wicket with a catch to Matt Hendry in the 35th over and KilcundaBass was 2/88.
Andrew Collis continued his fine bowling, taking the next wicket with the score on 98.
He also took the next with a good catch to wicketkeeper Brenton Hackett.
Nick Fairbank then took the next two wickets with catches to Adam Tagliaferro and Nathan Osler finishing with 3/32 off 12 overs.
Kelvin Toogood took the last wicket with some accurate bowling.
At the end of the innings, KilcundaBass finished on 7/217 off its allotted 70 overs.

Nyora started disastrously with the bat when Brenton Hackett fell to a great catch in the third over.
In the sixth over Nick Fairbank also fell to a good catch with the score on 13.
Nyora’s day got worse when Mark Pearse, who was looking solid, was run out when the batsman at the other end hit the ball and it ricocheted off the bowler onto the stumps and Nyora was 3/35.
When Jake Hackett fell, the score was 4/38 and Nyora in trouble.
Nathan Smith steadied the ship and made a fine 23 before he departed.
Six runs later Adam Tagliaferro went without troubling the scorers.
This bought Andrew Collis and Nathan Osler together and they made a 28run partnership when Andrew went out on 27. Osler was next to go, making 12 and Nyora was 8/103.
Kelvin Toogood made a quick 27 before departing and when Paul Hendry was judged lbw, the game was all over – Nyora all out for 116.
