Open day set to sizzle

IT has been a busy year for the residents of Meadowvale Village preparing for their annual fete and open day on Saturday, 1 October.
The events commence at 10 am with an official opening, during which Meadowvale manager May CroxfordRowswell will declare the many stalls open for business.
Visitors will be able to start the day with Devonshire teas prepared by Meadowvale’s cook, Leonie, who is famous for her delicious scones.
A great variety of items will be available for sale on the stalls, such as delicious home made cakes, craft items, a great selection of preloved goods, lucky envelopes, jewellery and accessories, mystery jars, plants, a children’s lucky dip and a spinning wheel with lots of prizes.
Meadowvale is renowned for its appetising sizzles and this year the chefs will be cooking a delicious array of choices for visitors to purchase for only $2.
Visitors will be able to enter a special competition to guess and win the amount of lollies in a huge jar. Something for the children, little or big, to have a go at!
Priceline Pharmacy will be on hand with bloodpressure checks and the Meadowvale Village Bush Band will be entertaining at various times throughout the morning.
The major raffle has as first prize a 68centimetre television set.
At 1pm the Cathy Lea Dancers will perform and at 1.45pm local identity and Meadowvale staff member, Alan Cherry, will entertain onlookers, supported by a junior talent group.
At 2.45pm will be the presentation of the door and competition prizes and the drawing of the major raffle will be held. Winners must be in attendance to receive their door prize.
