Photographic exhibition clicks into gear

PAKENHAM’S third national photographic exhibition drew an enthusiastic response from keen snappers around Australia.
The exhibition was held recently at the Cardinia Cultural Centre.
Organisers said many people regarded it as the best yet.
With many wellknown photographers competing against talented newcomers from all states of Australia the scene was set for an outstanding exhibition.
“The standard was extremely high,” publicity officer Russell Vincent said.
“A number of local photographers, including several Pakenham Camera Club members, did very well achieving certificate of merit level.”
Narre Warren photographer John Duiker also won the people portraiture section best slide and was the thirdmost successful exhibitor in slides overall.
Club stalwart and tireless worker Laurelei Vincent of Beaconsfield won the most successful Pakenham Camera Club competitor award with six acceptances, including second place in the people portraiture section.
Ashlee Hope of Berwick received a certificate of merit for prints under 25 years open.
Pakenham Camera Club members to receive merit certificates were Charmaine Hunt, Beverley Pascoe, Gavin Bamberry and Russell Vincent.
Exhibition organisers thanked all competitors, especially the club members who helped to run the large and successful event.
