PAKENHAM UpperToomuc (PUT) batsmen, led by Luke Gunton, ran down Merinda Park’s firstinnings score of 164 to win the Dgrade premiership on Saturday.
Resuming at 2/34, the Yabbies’ Craig Spicer and Luke Gunton added a further 55 runs before Spicer was bowled on 44.
Tim Owens fell for one and at 4/91, the contest had evened up yet again.
Brett Maddock joined Gunton in the middle and the pair put on 58 for the fifth wicket before Maddock went for 33.
Adrian Garvey (7 not out) joined Gunton and pushed the total past the target and the flag was in Yabby hands.
Gunton’s excellent unbeaten 56 earned him the manofthematch medal.
The Yabbies thanked the Cobras for a great game and also Brett Armitage for stepping in at short notice to present the trophies after the match.

PUT played Emerald Black that won the toss and decided to bat first, leaving the Yabbies with a score of 148 to chase.
The team started well, with Jordan DoolanPearse and James Parnell opening and getting off to a good start.
Parnell kept his head down and played some strong shots, managing 16 runs, including a four and a couple of threes.
DoolanPearse played a superb cover drive on his way to making 11, but was the first wicket to fall to leave the Yabbies at 1/19.
Next in was cocaptain Matt Dinnie who added 12 quick runs to the total.
Fellow cocaptain Jackson Fromhold replaced Dinnie at the crease at 2/41 and had already decided that he would be in for the long haul.
Fromhold and Parnell pushed the score along until the latter was removed to see the score 3/56.
Jamie Somers came to the crease and together with Fromhold constructed a partnership of 52.
Fromhold retired on 30, making way for Jesse Dinnie, while Somers did the same on 32 to bring Daniel Jeavons into the action.
The new duo continued the strong batting before Dinnie, who played some magnificent shots, was caught for 17 to leave the Yabbies at 4/146.
Glenn Corbett came and went on the same total that gave Ilija Drazic the opportunity to be on the field for the winning runs.
With only two runs required for victory, Jeavons played a great pull shot and managed to get the team over the line with a boundary.
Special mention to Mitch Price, who was unable to play in the second half of the match due to medical reasons and the team hopes he will be back fighting fit soon.
Parnell earned manofthematch honours for his 16 runs and 4/22 last week.
