Xavier Quigley continued his late season good form with the bat, hitting four fours in a top score of 36.
From 3/11, Officer fought back to be 5/85 with Wayne Danks making 20 and Gary Tivendale 22.
Officer was all out in the 37th over and then bowled for 33 overs, getting back in the game with Cardinia 6/121 at stumps.
Tom Bulenok bowled superbly with 3/34 from 15 overs in hot conditions.
Aaron Creek took 1/39 from seven overs and Ross Harris 1/16 in four overs, taking a wicket in his second over.
Officer will be after quick wickets to try for a second innings win.
