PUNK rockers, pirates and Pierrot clowns have taken over St John’s Primary School in Kooweerup.
To celebrate Book Week and the theme Reading Rocks last week, students were asked to dress as their favourite book character or rock star.
Alist celebrities, including members of the legendary rock band KISS and the pirates of the Caribbean were all signing autographs on the day.
After an extensive refurbishment of the library, students have been furiously reading about their favourite characters and were only too happy to parade across the school in their costumes.
A $670,000 refurbishment of the school, which commenced in December last year, has seen two brand new classrooms installed and a makeover of the school’s two oldest classrooms.
The administration building has also been redeveloped, with a new staffroom and sickbay amongst the works recently completed. The Federal Government and Catholic Education Office in Warragul jointly funded the project.
