STUDENTS at Lang Lang Primary School were treated to an entertaining display of motorcycle education and safety when the Honda RED Riders visited their school last Thursday.
The RED Rider motto is to ‘Ride. Educate. Discover’ and the team did exactly that with a strong education message coupled with an inspirational talk that drew from the efforts of Olympic and world champion athletes.
As well as teaching children the safety aspects of motorcycle riding, the RED Rider team touched on wider life issues that all result in a healthy and positive lifestyle.
RED Rider demonstrator Yarrive Konsky said the message was definitely getting through to the children they had spoken to and the students at Lang Lang really enjoyed the day.
“Our aim is to introduce youths to motorcycling and extreme sport and encourage them to live a healthy and adventurous lifestyle that’s clean and fun,” Mr Konsky said.
“We have the dual aims of developing sports participation for all and for motorcycling primarily, and we also encourage children to maintain a strong commitment to school and sport.”
Grade six student Yriah was thrilled with the RED Rider display and said he learnt a lot regarding the safety equipment that needed to be worn when riding motorcycles.
“It was a great day and they taught us heaps about what you should wear when you ride motorbikes, like the proper knee pads and the right helmet,” he said.
