Rotary awards two stalwarts

ROTARY District 9820 governor Ray Stewart has presented Rotary Centenary Awards to Berwick Rotarians Bert Damon and Frank Canobio.
Mr Stewart told the club’s Thursday 18 August meeting that the awards were given for outstanding service to club and community.
Past district governor Frank Canobio was a member of the Rotary Club of Berwick since 1966 until his resignation in 2002.
Mr Canobio was district governor of Rotary District 9820 during 1983/1984 and was recognised with a Paul Harris Fellowship in 1984 for his services to Rotary and the community.
He was a member of the Rotary Club of Daylesford before joining the Rotary Club of Berwick, of which he has been made an honorary member.
Bert Damon joined the Rotary Club of Berwick in 1972 and is an active club member.
Mr Damon has held many positions in the club and remains a vital part of club activities.
He was recognised with a Paul Harris Fellowship in 1995 for his services to Rotary and the community.
The Rotary Club of Berwick Centenary Award is presented to Rotarians past and present to recognise their commitment and service to Rotary and the community.
