PAKENHAM mini-sprint car driver Ryan McKenna is revved up to find some race-day dollars.
The 25-year-old has been the Victorian titleholder for the past two years, but to make it three he needs a sponsor.
The talented driver races at venues all over Victoria, from Bairnsdale to Mildura, and said after another championship victory this year, he will give his sponsor a real ‘bang for their buck’.
“Most of the other drivers on the circuit have some sort of sponsorship, it’s getting pretty hard without one,” he said.
McKenna said week-to-week maintenance and basic replacement parts were putting a strain on his own finances.
“I’ve been driving for six years, I get by, but the toll is starting to show,” he said.
“I want to make it three championships in a row.”
The mini-sprint car racing circuit is highly competitive and attracts a large following.
Luckily for McKenna, he has been fortunate enough to go through the past couple of seasons without a serious accident, but that’s easy when you’re always winning.
“There’s less traffic to cause trouble,” he laughed.
Any potential sponsors can call McKenna on 0433 784 674.
