GET ready to give generously when the Salvation Army comes knocking this weekend.
Pakenham Salvation Army volunteers will be collecting as part of the national Red Shield Appeal doorknock this weekend.
Without muchneeded donations, the Salvation Army cannot continue to run all of their local and national services, which include providing beds for the homeless, meals, and refuge to the abused.
“It enables us to keep our welfare and mission side of things going,” Christopher Garcia from the Pakenham Salvation Army said.
“We need as many volunteers as we can get,” Mr Garcia said.
To register as a volunteer call 137 258, or visit www.salvationarmy.org.au.All volunteers receive a free McDonald’s Big Mac and Mr Garcia encourages local residents to grab a friend and donate some time to the appeal so the Salvation Army can continue their services in the area.
He is calling for volunteers to spend about an hour and a half of their time to doorknock for collections throughout the Pakenham area.
