Sibley shows a ton of talent

NEW skipper Luke Sibley scored his first century for Beaconsfield on Saturday and the Tigers compiled 345 against Catani.

A GRADE

Playing Catani at home, Beaconsfield got a shaky start with the loss of an early wicket at 14.
Don Kerslake joined Kris Fletcher to take the score to 49 when Kerslake was caught for 20.
The in-form Brad Miles helped the score along to 74 when Fletcher was out for 31.
Captain-coach Luke Sibley came to the crease and batted well to post his first ton for the club, he and Miles putting on 71 for the fourth wicket before Miles was bowled for 54.
Sibley finished on 100.
Ryan O’Connor (39) kept the runs coming and Jason Dodd’s smart batting brought him 41 not out.
Beaconsfield reached the imposing total of 8/345.

B GRADE

Beaconsfield travelled to Clyde, where it won the toss and elected to bowl.
Rhys Miller clean-bowled the opener first ball of the day and Troy McDermott took 3/38 off his 12 overs and Brad McIntosh 2/16 off 11. Superb bowling dismissed Clyde for 149.
The Tigers resume this week on 1/9.

C GRADE

Beaconsfield travelled to Kilcunda-Bass and came home happy with the total of 4/281.
Dave Lennon was best of the batsmen with a massive 168 not out in a great display that included 15 fours and two sixes, well supported by Peter Sofra’s 51.

D GRADE

Playing Lang Lang at St Francis Xavier, Beaconsfield batted first and posted 316.
The best with the bat in a team effort was Paul Benbow, who made 70 batting at number four, Bevan Pitcher made 65 and Sammy Benbow a whirlwind 43 not out which put the team in a great position with a large score.

E GRADE

Playing Kooweerup away, Beaconsfield got a slow start, losing an early wicket before under-16 gun Madison Andrews came to the crease and posted his first century, 108 not out, in a superb display that included seven fours and two sixes.
All contributed handy runs in a great team display that finished at 7/236.

F GRADE

Batting first, Beaconsfield made only 115, the only batsmen resisting the Lyndhurst attack being Jimmy Daly, who posted a fine 50 retired. Luke Johnson made 20 and batted well.
Early wickets didn’t come for Beaconsfield until Daly struck in the 17th over when the score was 70. Lyndhurst reached the good total of 7/195 at the end of 35 overs.

UNDER 16 TIGERS

The Tigers batted last week, chasing Officer’s total of 68, and compiled 6/196 after their 40 overs.
Jack Benbow completed a memorable game after taking a hat-trick the week before, helping himself to 50 not out, Bill Cousins made 45 and Gus Patti made 21, providing great support.

UNDER 16 BANDITS

The Bandits, defending 229 against Emerald Red, bowled out the Reds for 68, Troy McDermott taking 2/3, Peter Sofra 2/19 and Bevan Pitcher 3/22.

UNDER 14 TIGERS

The Tigers bowled in defence of 129 and in a tight finish held PUT Yabbies to 116.
Aaron Perera (1/6), James Johnston (1/8) and Nick Beltran 1/10 all bowled superb spells.
The highlights of the game were the three run-outs by the Tigers.

UNDER 14 EAGLES

The Eagles chased Officer’s total of 38 and batted sensibly, a lot of players spending time at the crease.
Alex Benbow made 30 not out, Scott Monagle nine and Josh Bruneau nine, all batting well in the total of 91.

UNDER 14 SAINTS

The Saints played Emerald Black in a one-day match.
The Saints batted first and were bowled out for 55.
Daniel Nicholls made 10, Jarryd Madden eight and James Rothwell six.
The Saints’ bowlers then kept Emerald to 74. Reece Suttie took 1/2, Hayden Mitchell 1/5 and Jarryd Madden 1/10.

UNDER 12 EAGLES

The Eagles batted first against Emerald and made a great score of 7/165 with great knocks from J. Munro 19 no, B. Milon 21 no and Ben Cherry 21.
In reply the Eagles bowled and kept Emerald to 127 with Jac Higgins bowling superbly for 4/18 with great efforts from G. Benbow 2/9 and C. Dickens 1/3.

UNDER 12 TIGERS

The under 12 Tigers played Upper Pakenham in a one day match, batted and scored 135 with great innings from Will Haines 22 no, Dillon Allen 18 no and Sean McDermott 13.
In reply the Tigers kept Upper Pakenham to 71 with Sean McDermott 2/7, Luke Davey 1/5 and Sam Martin 1/7 all bowling well.

UNDER 12 BLITZ

Emerald Redbacks batted first and made 90.
Best bowling for the Blitz was by T. Boatman (2/13), Jake Bargwanna (1/5) and J. Hillard (1/10).
In reply the Blitz batted well to reach 105 with N. Lay 13 not out, J. Monroe nine not out and N. Hillard seven not out.
