
ST THOMAS Aquinas College, Tynong blitzed the field to win the grand final of the state level super 8’s cricket competition on Tuesday, 28 November.
The team represented their school in the competition run by Cricket Victoria.
In order to be eligible to enter, the students had to compete in a regional roundrobin and not only win all of the games they played, but also achieve the highest amount of points.
St Thomas Aquinas won the overall regional level competition held at Bellbird Park in Drouin, to go on and play at Mentone Grammar in Keysborough.
Finalist schools were represented from all around the state, but also included some of the state’s most prestigious schools such as Methodist Ladies College, Toorak College, Wesley and Loreto.
St Thomas Aquinas College won every game it played on the day and was matched against Loreto in the grand final playoff and won by 30 points.
