GARFIELD Netball Club’s Agrade team fired after a slow start to down Moe by 14 goals on Saturday.
Both Jade Dawes and Lisa Biffen were a force in defence and Julie Collis applied great pressure through the midcourt.

B GRADE

Garfield started the game strongly and established a handy lead.
The defence was excellent. Di Collis and Heath Mills rebounded well, creating many turnovers.
The midcourt was strong and patiently fed the goaler with winning results.
Scores: Garfield 49 d Moe 31.

C GRADE

An unsettled first and third quarters proved to be the team’s undoing.
Despite the loss, Garfield showed it is a talented team that will do well this season.
Scores: Garfield 21 lost to Moe 36.

17 AND UNDER

Garfield settled into a good team game after a slow start. Major changes were made throughout each quarter with the players adapting well to each one.
Scores: Garfield 16 lost to Moe 27.
Awards: Best on court – Bec Draper; Blockbuster – Josie Johnston; Hungry Jack’s – Casey Dawes.

15 AND UNDER

The girls got off to a good start with more work at training starting to show.
Poor weather conditions made moving the ball down the court very difficult. It was a good game by all players who adapted well to continual positional changes.
Scores: Garfield 7 lost to Moe 30.
Awards: Gerald Collins Real Estate $5 award Bianca Henwood; Blockbuster – Kassie Burge; Hungry Jack’s – Kaila Lang.

13 AND UNDER

Poor weather conditions combined with a tall and talented opposition made playing conditions difficult for the young Stars.
Tamara Monson was welcomed back after an injury and Brittany Taylor was relentless in her efforts.
Scores: Moe 28 d Garfield 4.
Awards: Best on court Brittany Taylor; Hungry Jack’s – Tamara Monson; Blockbuster Narelle Van Der Pas.

All senior players are invited to a counter meal at the O& H Hotel Warragul on Thursday night.
This is an official training session to support sponsors. Players are asked to meet at the rooms at 6.30pm.
