KOOWEERUP Secondary College students are hard at work preparing for the school’s fete.
A group of students from year eight has been working furiously in preparation for the twilight fete this Friday.
Under the direction of their teacher Ms McIntosh, students have been fundraising and promoting the fete in the local community.
Students said they were hoping to raise money to put towards improving the facilities at school.
The fete promises to be a fun-filled event with more than 35 stalls and lots of food.
It will feature helicopter and Harley rides, a ‘dunk the teacher’ contest, jumping castle and live music.
There will also be an SES rescue demonstration, performances from the aerobics team and school rock band and a ‘Kooweerup Idol’ competition.
The fun starts at 4.30pm and continues until 8.30pm. All are welcome.

A NEW science and information technology building is the centrepiece of a major facilities upgrade at Chairo Christian School in Pakenham.
The new buildings were opened recently by McMillan MP Russell Broadbent.
Head of campus Steve McAllister said it was an exciting day in the life of the school, which was established in the 1990s in Bald Hill Road.
The first stage of the school was completed just in time for the start of the 1998 school year, and the school has since expanded to cater for more than 100 kindergarten and primary students.
Guest speakers at the opening included Chairo Christian School principal Rob Bray, Mr McAllister and school captains Imogen Kent, Katherine Ellis and Jacob Van Roy.
Grade five students Bethany Hamburg and Lauren Battersby spoke of the benefits the new facilities would bring.
The school choir led the national anthem and guests enjoyed a tour of the new buildings followed by light refreshments.
COCKATOO Primary School student Taylor Licciardi may not want lollies for Christmas.
Taylor recently won a huge jar of jelly beans after guessing there were 1297 of the sweet little treats in the jar.
The competition was part of the school’s recent RACV Breakthrough fundraiser.
