THE Commonwealth Games began early in Pakenham when hundreds of local students hurdled, sprinted and threw their way to gold medal glory.
Last Tuesday more than 1500 primary school children participated in a host of events at the Toomuc Recreational Reserve.
The miniCommonwealth Games were designed to increase interest in the event before the students enjoyed a premature end to the first term so they don’t miss a minute of the Melbourne spectacular.
Almost every primary school from the Cardinia Shire participated and the competition was hot!
