BEACONSFIELD’S A-grade team cemented top spot on the ladder after an outright victory over Pakenham Upper-Toomuc on Saturday.
After earning a first-innings victory the previous week the Tigers pushed for outright victory. Continuing to bat gave the side a 120-run lead with Brad Miles smashing 135 that included 11 sixes and three fours.
Rick Colling contributed a handy 24 to the total when the side was dismissed for 237. Bowling again Beaconsfield did a great job in dismissing PUT again for 111.
Matthew Meehan, with 2/20 bowled well, Glen Scales 1/9 and Jason Dodd 2/12 were the pick of the bowlers.
B GRADE
Defending 244 against Tooradin, Rhys Miller took apart the batting line up with the great figures of 5/10 off 12 overs.
The big fast bowler teamed with Troy McDermott to restrict the Seagulls to 87, Troy taking 2/18 and Geoff Bliss the multiple wicket takers with 2/3 off three overs.
Batting again the Tigers put in a shocker being 9/44 at the end of the day.
C GRADE
Defending 261 against the Lyndhurst Vikings the Tigers put in a great display of bowling and fielding to dismiss the Vikings for 109.
Jamie Ingham was the pick of the bowlers with 3/20 and was supported well by Dave Lennon 2/23, Greg Butler 2/22 and Brendan Ewert 2/8. Batting again the side made 2/38 with Peter Sofra 16 not out and Stuart Mathieson 12 not out.
D GRADE
Playing Nyora and with 196 on the board Beaconsfield defended well, bowling Nyora out for 176.
Adam Goodes opened the bowling and took 1/41 in a fast and accurate spell.
Gus Patti returned the fine figures of 4/50 to be the best of the bowlers. Sam Benbow also picked up 2/33. Batting again the side made 3/41 with Brad Pitcher 15 not out and Paul Doorbowlo 16.
E GRADE
Defending 186 at Akoonah Park, the team bowled well to dismiss Devon Meadows for 146.
Jimmy Daly 3/40 bowled well while opening the bowling and spin king Joe McMaster with 3/42 was right on song. A great team effort with Alan Sauvarin stopping everything in the field.
F GRADE
Beaconsfield travelled to Kilcunda-Bass and came home with the points, winning by 11 runs.
Bowling first, the wickets were shared between the bowlers in a great team effort, restricting Kilcunda-Bass to 107 off the 35 allotted overs. Batting, Cale Popovits was the standout with 52 not out and Richard Cousins 21 not out when the side passed the score in the 33rd over.
UNDER 16 TIGERS
The Tigers lost the toss and bowled against Officer and routed it for 68 with Jack Benbow snaring a hat-trick in his figures 3/2.
Josh Butler 2/12 off five overs and Brent Dames 1/8 off seven overs also bowled well. In reply the Tigers were 0/24 at stumps.
UNDER 16 BANDITS
The Bandits hosted Emerald that won the toss and sent the Bandits in to bat.
The Bandits batting line up blasted the Emerald attack to the tune of 2/229 off their 40 overs.
Troy McDermott and Cheyne Pettit blasted 50 not out each, with a well compiled 43 not out from Bradman Pitcher.
UNDER 14 EAGLES
The Eagles hosted Officer that won the toss and batted.
The Eagles bowled a tight line and length to dismiss Officer for 38 with Jordan Andrews the main destroyer with 5/10 off six overs. Best of the other bowlers was Lachlan Murphy with 2/4 and Aaron McDermott with 2/6.
In reply the Eagles are well placed at 1/25 at stumps.
UNDER 14 TIGERS
The Tigers hosted Pakenham Upper-Toomuc, won the toss and batted and against tight bowling made sure they batted their 40 overs out to compile 6/129 at stumps. Tyler Sidwell and Damien Johnston both continued their good early season form to reach 30 not out with Aaron Perera also 10 not out.
UNDER 14 SAINTS
The Saints match against Emerald was washed out and a one-day match will be played this week.
