UPPER Beaconsfield Primary School had an unpleasant start to the school week after vandals broke two classroom windows and strewed glass on the school tennis courts on Saturday night 17 March.
Principal Nick Karanzoulis said the damage was an inconvenience, which distracted the school from its regular educational activities on Monday morning while arrangements were made for repairs.
Mr Karanzoulis said the glass on the tennis courts meant locals could not use the facilities on Sunday.
“We are a countrybased school with strong links to the community and encourage the local community to use the tennis and basketball courts. It is not pleasant to have this type of abuse of the site,” he said.
Mr Karanzoulis said the offenders had also tried to light a fire in the playground.
“If anyone sees anything suspicious near the school grounds at any time we ask they call 000 and report this to police,” Mr Karanzoulis.
The incident is believed to have occurred at around 10pm.
Anyone with information about the school damage at Stoney Creek Road, Beaconsfield Upper is asked to contact Pakenham Police on 5945 2500.
