By Jim Mynard
VANDALS hit Berwick Village on two consecutive nights Friday 28 and Saturday 29 April.
They sprayed scrawl on shops and walls during Friday night and smashed planter pots during Saturday night.
Loveridge Walk was targeted on both occasions.
Proprietor of It’s Individual Hair Design in Loveridge Walk Paul Fletcher said he thought the incidents were unrelated because he cleaned graffiti off his shop during Saturday morning.
“The planter pots were still untouched at that time,” he said.
Proprietor of Cell to Cell Mobile Phones in Loveridge Walk Greg McCann said his shop front had been vandalised with graffiti.
Mr McCann said he would install more lighting in the area of his shop.
Casey acting manager of community safety Caroline Bell said a report would soon be brought before the council discussing further action in the battle against graffiti vandalism.
Ms Bell said she expected the report to cover areas such as restitution for damage caused by vandals.
