BERWICK RSL conducted a quiet but meaningful Remembrance Day ceremony at the cenotaph.
RSL president Noel Sealey told people gathered for the service that wars were hellish events, but people had to consider the alternatives.
“Think of our lives under the rule of people like Hitler, Stalin, and Saddam Hussein,” he said.
“Many soldiers died to prevent that and to retain those things that we hold dear.”
