THE unavailability of 18 players meant old war horses and youngsters took to the field on Saturday afternoon for the Yabbies.

Justin Harris (13), Darren Warne (33) and John Wallin (20) saw the PUT total to 3/53, but the last seven wickets fell for just 41 runs with the team all out in 35 overs for a disappointing 94.
The Catani bowlers were good and hardly gave the Yabbies anything loose.
Warne (5/63) and Rob Borlase (3/41) shared the bowling honours in Catani’s reply, and Luke Willis made a smart stumping to have the hosts all out for 218 on the close of play.

Brett Carey (52) and Andy Connor (18) shared a 40run opening stand before Connor’s dismissal sparked a collapse.
Junior Jordan Pearse (39) played a fine hand, and added 57 for the fifth wicket before four more wickets fell cheaply.
Coach John Barrow (7) and Damian Garth (12) added 24 at the death before the innings closed with the team all our for 158.
Visitor Cranbourne Meadows began well, posting 0/23 before stumps.

The Yabbies hosted Nyora at Syme Road, and batting first amassed 9/253 after 70 overs.
Craig Spicer (15) and Chris Gunton (35) opened well, and valuable runs came from Luke Gunton, Tim Owens, Grant Barclay and Frank Scartuchio, but Terry Bowler stole the show with a fine 92.

PUT travelled to Glover Reserve and had to field first in the heat.
Ben Clough (5/19) and Bob Phillips (3/12) helped roll the Panthers for 97 in 34 overs.
In reply, the Yabbies posted 6/82 before stumps, with Drew Clarke (14) and Corey Arthur (8) still at the crease.

The Yabbies played Pakenham at Ahern Road, and put the Lions in to bat first.
A good team effort saw wickets fall regularly until a partnership added 43 runs, Pakenham racking up 8/157 after its 35 overs.
Travis Decker (3/22) and Gerard McKee (2/18) shared the bowling honours.
Veteran John Fromhold opened and played well to make 47, and Matt Cole (50 retired) and McKee (51 retired) made sure of the points, the Yabbies scoring 4/205 by the close of play.

PUT hosted Emerald Red and batted first.
Luke Gunton (25) and Michael Wake (39) batted well early, and unbeaten knocks from Jake Abel (53) and Chris Cardona (51) pushed the Yabbies’ total out to 7/245 after the 40 overs.

PUT Yabbies played PUT Gold.
The Yabbies batted first and were all out for 75.
Jackson Fromhold top scored with 18, and Jamie Somers made 15. Sean Ager (2/2), Matt Tripp (1/5) and Lucas Plozza (1/5) bowled well, but a good team effort in the field saw six catches and two runouts.

PUT Gold played Beaconsfield at Syme Road.
Unfortunately the game was cancelled after 15 overs due to bad weather.
Gold was fielding well and majority of the team had good line and length with their bowling.
Good bowlers were Brody Pearse (2/6), Jake Sayburn (1/2), Nick Spezza (1/2), Bec Bardwell (1/1), Thomas Willmott (1/2) and Kimmy Bardwell (1/4).
