KOOWEERUP Community Centre now has a new committee of management, which took over the reins from Cardinia Shire Council on 16 March.
The council handed over the keys and transferred funds of $7000 to the new committee on the day.
The centre was built by the council and opened in June 2002.
A local committee initially managed the centre, but handed responsibility back to the council as it found it difficult to recruit sufficient local residents to form a viable group.
However, renewed interest has seen a new committee formed, made up of Michael Duff (chairman), Wesley Head (treasurer), Miriam Gillespie, Terrona Ramsay, Helen Lynch and Peter Lynch.
Bookings for the centre can be made through the Kooweerup Hospital.
