GREEN-THUMBED residents are being encouraged to “grow a row” for 4Cs.
Organisers of the “throw a row, grow a row” are hopeful the initiative will stock the food bank’s shelves.
4Cs’ administration manager Sue Friend said it was easy for the community to get involved.
“If you’re planting something in your garden think about us, put a couple of extra seeds in for us,” she said.
“It is important for kids to have fresh vegies in lunches.”
Ms Friend was hopeful the program would provide produce for its clientele, which is between 150 and 175 individuals and families each week.
