PAKENHAM’S Road Rescue Unit had to remove car doors at two separate crashes on consecutive days last week.
Last Wednesday the unit responded to a collision on Gembrook-Belgrave Road just after 9.15pm, and found the vehicle’s occupant trapped.
The next day the rescue unit headed out to Nar Nar Goon after a four-wheel-drive hit a tree. Rescuers used motorised hydraulic tools to remove the door and roof of the four-wheel-drive after ambulance paramedics stabilised the driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle.
It was a busy week for Cardinia’s emergency service volunteers from the PRRU: they also helped out in fire-ravaged areas.
Busy time for SESEmergency crews work to free the man from his four-wheel-drive in Nar Nar Goon.
