MORE than 100 Gippsland food and wine exhibitors will showcase their produce at the 2009 Jindi Cheese Harvest of Gippsland, at Lardner Park, Warragul, on 1 March.
The signature event in the Gippsland food and wine festival enables people to taste and purchase the best in food and wine from all corners of Gippsland.
Ross Wilson and The Urban Legends will perform on stage, supported by acoustic rock band, Distance.
Cooking demonstrations will occur throughout the day, and top chefs from across Gippsland will battle it out in the final of the fifth Annual Gippsland Signature Dish Chef competition.
Noojee chef John Snelling from The Outpost Retreat proudly took out the 2008 title.
Hope Farm will make organic bread, and Peppermint Ridge Farm will demystify the use of bush foods as well as provide tips on creating an organic garden.
There is the opportunity to get a step closer to the wine making process and join the Wild Dog Winery Stomp.
Food and wine prizes go to participants and to the best stomper.
The children’s entertainment includes face painting and portraits from a caricature artist.
The event is from 10am to 5pm.
Admission is $20 for adults, concession $16, and children under 16 free.
Entry includes tasting glass and a wine produce bag.
V/Line Bus Transfers include a shuttle service to and from Lardner Park and Drouin Station to meet trains from Melbourne and East Gippsland.
